Black and White Damask Chair (Or the chair that's not pink)

I purchased this chair last Saturday and I wasted no time giving it a makeover!

Yesterday I painted it pink.

And I tried to convince myself it would look okay with this fabric.

And then tried it with this other fabric...

Well... maybe.  But it's a really delicate satin and I knew it wouldn't hold up that well.

So, this morning, it got painted black.

Someday I will paint a chair pink, but just not this one.

Because I had already waxed the pink paint, I used Cece Caldwell Beckley Coal as a primer of sorts and then I painted it with Rustoleum Painter's Touch  semi-gloss black (the one in the can, not spray paint.)

Yesterday I also worked on a couple of these doors.  I found them on kijiji up near my mom and dad.   My parents picked them up for me and brought them down.  Turns out the lady selling them had taught my dad when he was a kid.

You'll have to check back to see what I'm up to with them!

  1. I had a chair just like this one a couple of months ago I painted pink with a floral seat. However I do love the look of it in the black. Your Paris table is beautiful.
