A Fresh Turquoise Dresser Makeover

This is a dresser that I finished recently.
I only remembered to take a before picture when there was a 6 inch strip of original colour showing across the top. Oops.  I figured by then that there wasn't any real point.  It was painted already, white underneath and then it had been painted brown with that faux graining technique that is so ugly now, but so popular years ago.
The layers of paint did leave a nice aged texture, though, which was nice.
I used Cece Caldwell paint in Santa Fe Turquoise.  One thing I like about this paint is that it is non-toxic.  Which means this pregnant gal can use it without worrying!  I finished it off with clear wax and a little light aging wax.  One thing that is nice, is that if you apply too much dark wax you can reapply the clear wax and it lightens it up.
It is for sale, but if it doesn't sell, I won't be too disapointed because I could easily use it for the baby's things.

I think that it's a solid oak piece.  I had my dad check it out when he was down and he agreed.  If I end up keeping this piece I can see it being stripped down to the wood in the future.  But for now it's turquoise and I really like it.
I reused the handles it came with.  Although they are not original, I thought they worked okay.  For once I didn't have to paint, or rub-n-buff or do anything to them.  Just unscrewed them and then put them back on.  That was nice for a change!
The colour is pretty vibrant and has a bit more of minty/green undertone to it than I am used to, but it's still a very pretty colour.
